Tamara is a native of Arizona and although she lived in several areas of the country while growing up she returned to Phoenix in 1992 and remained there until moving to the Pacific Northwest with her husband and fellow painter John Kime in 2006.
After college Tamara pursued a career in corporate sales until she inevitably found a more creative outlet in gallery sales. Her experience with renowned Atelier, Phoenix Art Group inspired her to begin painting again. “The environment of an Atelier is exciting and fast paced. There is a constant creative synergy between all involved to create a beautiful, entertaining and successful gallery show.”
She is the youngest of five children and has been drawing and painting since she was a child. Her landscapes reflect the rich and colorful influence of Blues, Jazz and Bluegrass music played in the rolling countryside of the Ozarks and the historical city of Saint Louis. These formative years in the country taught her to love the outdoors and appreciate the complex beauty of nature. The Pacific Northwest culture and atmosphere have had a great influence as well. “The air here brings softness to the landscape that weaves the earth and sky intimately together.” When asked to describe her painting experience she says “It’s like meditating. I get lost in the painting for awhile and my mind transcends outside activity and time, it’s a wonderful experience.”
She has been inspired by many different artists including Van Gogh, Mary Cassatt, Edward Hopper, John Singer Sergeant, and George Inness.
Tamara’s artwork hangs in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Canada.
